A very friendly family welcome awaits you at the historic Covenanters' Inn.
|
Run by Louise and Douglas Harrison, the Inn is located in the small country village of Auldearn, just 2 miles from Nairn between Inverness (capital of the Highlands) and the historic town of Elgin in Moray.
It is an ideal location from which to explore the magnificent scenery of
the North and West Highlands, Moray, Speyside, the Cairngorms and Aberdeenshire.
We pride ourselves on being a family establishment and our daughters, Claire and Laura, are often on hand to greet guests and meet their children. |
|
|
As from 26th March 2006, smoking is not permitted inside The Covenanters Inn, but is permitted in the Beer Garden. The Covenanters' Inn offers 14 comfortable bedrooms (double, twin, triple and family rooms) all with en-suite facilities, colour TV, direct-dial telephone and central heating. One bedroom has been adapted for disabled guests. All rooms are on the ground floor. |

Children are well catered for with the indoor Kiddies Cove (Claire and Laura's favourite hide out!), outdoor play area and, of course, their own special menu. The 'big kids' also enjoy the pool table and darts.
|
We are ideally situated for touring northern Scotland. In the reception area there is an abundance of information about local tourist attractions and events. For a few suggestions of all the many things to see and do locally, check out our Sightseeing & Activities Page. If you need any help in planning days out, Douglas will be only too pleased to assist. He keeps up-to-date on where the Moray dolphins and Nessie have been sighted most recently! |
If you are wondering about the name - it originates from the great Battle of Auldearn in 1645 between the Covenanters and the Marquis of Montrose. In these times, the original part of the Inn was the Mill and Brewhouse for the people of the area.
Today, the Highlands are far more welcoming and we look forward to meeting you!
